Abstract

The departments located in the Amazon and Orinoco regions have very specific conditions such as geography, population density, natural resources and other factors that make them areas with very different productive dynamics from the rest of the country. Similarly, problems such as deforestation, illicit crops and the lack of complete coverage of basic services make these departments regions of special analysis and object of multiple economic and social development programs. In this line, this paper seeks to analyze the labor market of three departments located in the Amazon region and compare them with other departments in similar or better performance. Specifically, it seeks to analyze the dynamics registered in Caquetá, Guaviare and Putumayo in light of variables such as unemployment rate, informality, human capital, physical and digital infrastructure, and quality of life variables.
