Estimación de brechas tecnológicas y sus determinantes en el sector agropecuario colombiano

Abstract

En este estudio se estiman las brechas tecnológicas en la producción de un conjunto de productos agropecuarios por parte de pequenos y medianos productores en Colombia y se indaga por los factores que explican dichas brechas, con especial énfasis en variables de política como capacitación, crédito y asistencia técnica agropecuaria. Para la estimación econométrica se utiliza una muestra de productores que se beneficiaron del programa Agro Ingreso Seguro entre 2008 y 2010. Los resultados muestran que existe un considerable nivel de ineficiencia técnica en la producción agropecuaria en Colombia. En general, se encuentra que la asistencia técnica contribuye a reducir la ineficiencia igual que el acceso a material genético y variables relacionadas con asociatividad.
