Determinantes de las decisiones colectivas al interior de los hogares colombianos

Abstract

Los desarrollos teóricos recientes muestran que las decisiones al interior de los hogares surgen de la interacción entre las preferencias individuales de cada miembro respecto al consumo de bienes, pero también dependen del uso de su tiempo, de la restricción presupuestaria del hogar y del proceso de negociación que tiene lugar al interior de éste. Como resultado de estas decisiones es posible determinar el gasto agregado del hogar en diferentes bienes y servicios, la participación laboral y la distribución de los ingresos de sus miembros. Por ello, a través de esta investigación se busca evaluar empíricamente, mediante el uso del enfoque de modelos colectivos, el proceso dedecisión de los hogares en Colombia, con particular énfasis en la decisión de oferta laboral.Los resultados muestran que el cónyuge que tiene mayores ingresos es quien determina su distribución al interior del hogar y que la mujer obtiene la mayor parte de los ingresos no laborales del hogar. Estos hechos inciden de manera significativa en la oferta laboral de todos los miembros del hogar.
