Abstract

Esta Observación presenta algunos resultados financieros del seguro público de salud en Colombia para el período 1996 a 2005, abordando prácticamente la historia del sistema desde su inicio. Se presenta una revisión sobre la teoría y la historia del seguro, y a continuación se diferencian los aspectos macro y micro de la financiación en el caso colombiano, con unas conclusiones finales para motivar la discusión y un mayor estudio sobre el tema en el país.
