Diagnóstico de la demanda turística en la ciudad de Popayán: una aproximación econométrica para el período 2009 - 2012

Abstract

Este documento se constituye en un ejercicio exploratorio a modo de sugerencia metodológica para el estudio del turismo en la ciudad de Popayán, capital del Departamento del Cauca en el suroccidente colombiano, para lo cual se proponen y estiman dos clases de modelos econométricos(teorométricos) usando información del periodo 2009 - 2012. Con los primeros se logra demostrar la importancia de variables agregadas en el comportamiento del turismo de colombianos y extranjeros hacia Popayán tales como el crecimiento y ciclo económicos, preciosrelativos, tasa de desempleo, efectos publicitarios y violencia; con los segundos se valora el impacto de la información del turista individual en la probabilidad de visitar nuevamente esta ciudad.
