Abstract

AbstractFrederick Taylor introduces knowledge to train the eye of factorymanagers in order to detect the imperceptible or consciously unsolvedproblems that distress them, and from this knowledge, to plan effectiveadministrative techniques and practices to work them out. Therefore, this knowledge gives rise to new foundations of power. The scientificmanagement aims at regaining control of the central aspects ofadministration and to place it firmly in the hands of the management, thus restricting the workers participation to the mere execution ofproductive tasks, giving birth to a co-operation actively regulated andplanned by the management. These innovating ways of subtracting thesurplus value take root due to a reorganization of the mechanisms of thedisciplinary power introduced by the manufacture and the factory forthe formation of «the collective labourer and the collective machinery»as well as the integration of new elements, thus highlighting the dominatingeffects upon the workers multiplicities.
