Desplazamientos forzados: migración e inseguridad en Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua
AbstractThe present document aims to estimate the quantitative impacts of the current crisis of violence and insecurity on the population movements in Ciudad Juárez, in order to view them as a displacement forced in a situation of "social crisis". In this sense, becomes the discussion - at least for this border city centre - the need to rethink at a theoretical level the explanatory factors which have traditionally assumed to understand the complex phenomenon of domestic and international migration. The information comes from the population census of the National Institute of Statistical Geography and Informatics (INEGI), the State Agency of Research and the Public Perception Survey on Insecurity in Ciudad Juárez (EPCIJ, 2009 and EPCIJ, 2010).
