Abstract

This paper analyzes the situation of the Chilean female small farmers in the context of development in the national economy from the 90s to 2012, which has led to significant changes in the demand for labor. These changes have been paralleled by significant fluctuations in the demographics of rural areas of Chile, affecting the role of women in their productive structures. This article aims to analyze the processes described from the review of recent scenarios of the Chilean economy and rural areas, using secondary information reviewed under a gender perspective.
