Caracterización de las colocaciones bancarias en Chile

Abstract

En este trabajo se analiza y caracteriza los distintos segmentos del crédito bancario chileno. Sobre la base de la información diaria obtenida de los propios bancos se describen para los distintos tipos de colocaciones bancarias —comerciales, de comercio exterior, de consumo y de vivienda— su composición por monedas, tasa de colocación (fija y variable) y plazo contractual de las operaciones de crédito. Además, se utilizó la información de los balances para la recopilación de los stocks de las colocaciones bancarias. A partir de este trabajo es posible concluir que las colocaciones comerciales son las operaciones de crédito de menor plazo contractual, los créditos de consumo exhiben tasas de interés más altas y se otorgan mayoritariamente en pesos nominales. Por último, la mayor parte de los créditos destinados al financiamiento de operaciones de comercio exterior son cursados en moneda extranjera y a corto plazo, mientras que las colocaciones otorgadas para la adquisición de vivienda son reajustables y a largo plazo.
