Incentivos y desincentivos en la vida profesional de los economistas

Abstract

Los incentivos y los desincentivos ocupan un lugar central en la explicación de la conducta humana, según los economistas. Como bien dijo Adam Smith en La riqueza de las naciones, no es la benevolencia del carnicero lo que nos proporciona el alimento, sino que a raíz de prestarnos ese servicio, viven él y su familia. ¿Aplicamos los economistas lo que predicamos, en nuestra vida profesional? Estas líneas no están inspiradas en el proverbio de “en casa de herrero cuchillo de palo”, sino precisamente, en las implicancias que tiene el hecho de los economistas guiamos nuestro trabajo profesional en base a los incentivos y desincentivos privados, sobre los trabajos referidos al funcionamiento del sistema económico en su conjunto.
