Copa do mundo 2014: impactos econômicos no Brasil, em Minas Gerais e Belo Horizonte

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho é projetar os impactos econômicos da Copa do Mundo de 2014 sobre a economia brasileira, o estado de Minas Gerais e a região de Belo Horizonte. Consideram-se os investimentos em reforma/construção de infra-estrutura esportiva (estádios) e urbana divulgados recentemente pelo Ministério dos Esportes. Por meio de simulações com um modelo de equilíbrio geral computável são estimados os impactos das fases de construção e operação desses investimentos, com atenção especial às fontes de financiamento (público, privado e BNDES). Os resultados apontam para um efeito de crescimento adicional de cerca de 1% no PIB do Estado de Minas Gerais, e geração de 40000 empregos na microrregião de Belo Horizonte.
