Models Of Vehicular Collision: Development And Simulation With Emphasis On Safety II: On The Modeling Of Collision Between Vehicles In A Platoon System

Abstract

This report presents an algorithm for the detection of collision between two vehicles. The theory of a pseudo-rigid body is used to facilitate the development of the algorithm. The report concludes with examples of four vehicular impact scenarios to illustrate the applicability of the proposed algorithm.
