As Convenções de Yaoundé e de Lomé como primeiros Acordos de Cooperação entre os continentes europeu e africano

Abstract

As relações de Cooperação estabelecidas entre o continente europeu e o continente africano contam com mais de 5 (cinco) décadas de história. Conhecido o seu início em meados dos anos 50 (cinquenta), com a assinatura do Tratado de Roma (1957), este relacionamento foi se tornando, ao longo dos anos, cada vez mais forte e, ainda hoje, a parceria europeia com o continente africano destaca-se, precisamente, pela sua solidez e durabilidade. Contudo, e ainda antes da assinatura do referido tratado, Schuman, aquando o seu célebre discurso a 9 de maio de 1950, referiu que uma das grandes e mais importantes tarefas da Europa seria contribuir para o desenvolvimento dos países africanos.
