Inmigrantes emprendedores en Antofagasta (Chile): el aporte de los emprendedores sur-sur

Abstract

La migración sur-sur ha traído un nuevo tipo de emprendedores a la ciudad de Antofagasta (Chile). El objetivo de este trabajo es caracterizar a estos inmigrantes emprendedores y desvelar su aporte al desarrollo local. Para lo anterior, se encuestó a 314 inmigrantes emprendedores de la ciudad de Antofagasta. Los resultados muestran que este tipo de emprendedores no pueden ser explicados a cabalidad por las teorías actuales, pues éstas se han desarrollado para inmigrantes emprendedores sur-norte. Por lo anterior, se propone el concepto de emprendedores sur-sur para categorizarles y explicar su comportamiento concluyendo que realizan un aporte significativo a la economía local.
