Abstract

Production simulations can provide a valuable contribution in assessing the complex implica-tions of changes in production planning for downstream company sectors. By means of a case study of a medium-sized manufacturing company it is demonstrated how such a simulation study can be conducted in the area of lot sizing, what the consequences in the field of labor efficiency, production quality and bearing loads are and which policy proposals can be de-rived from the analysis of simulation results.
