El encaje legal como instrumento macroprudencial en Bolivia

Abstract

Durante los últimos 10 años, se han venido adoptando varios instrumentos macroprudenciales para controlar la prociclicidad del crédito del sector privado y de esta manera contener episodios de inestabilidad financiera que podrían gestarse. En este sentido, específicamente los requerimientos de encaje legal, han sido empleados activamente por varios países entre los que se encuentra Bolivia, por lo que el documento busca responder a la pregunta de cómo los requerimientos de encaje influencian sobre el crecimiento del crédito bancario desde una perspectiva macroprudencial.
