Consejos de Salarios y su utilidad como instrumento de proyección

Abstract

En el presente documento se explora el potencial de la información contenida en los Consejos de Salarios a los efectos de predecir la evolución de los salarios privados en Uruguay. Para ello se utiliza el Índice de Consejos de Salarios (ICS), cuya metodología de construcción se describe y se evalúa su desempeño predictivo desde el tercer trimestre de 2010 hasta el último de 2016, comparándolo con otras estrategias de proyección posibles. A su vez, se comentan algunos resultados de interés que surgen del análisis de los convenios aprobados en las distintas rondas de negociación que se han sucedido desde el 2005 en la órbita de los Consejos de salarios.
