Abstract

En un polémico ensayo publicado en 1997, el economista Jesús Antonio Bejarano presentó la tesis que desde finales de la década de 1980 la investigación sobre historia económica colombiana se estancó1. Bejarano no se refirió a varias de las investigaciones más innovadoras que se habían publicado desde 1990, muchas de ellas tesis doctorales presentadas en universidades norteamericanas y europeas por economistas e historiadores colombianos. Además, no parecía estar familiarizado con otros trabajos que estaban por publicarse o en proceso de elaboración.
