Abstract

This paper presents an algorithm necessary when choosing a new location for the operational facilities within European middle-sized and large companies. In this regard, the first part of the paper will present a short analysis of the present tendencies of operational management regarding the choice of a new location. Next, we will underline the importance of choosing a new location within the European Union area, decision that for many companies (more precisely for companies outside the borders of the European Union) can be a difficult step. In the end, we will present two methods that the operational managers can use in order to decide themselves on which location to choose out of the strategic alternatives they have.
