Les enjeux de la nouvelle croissance ivoirienne

Abstract

Avec 23 millions d‘habitants, la Côte d‘Ivoire est le pays le plus peuplé de l’Union économique et monétaire ouest-africaine (UEMOA) et constitue un moteur traditionnel de cette zone. Affaiblie par une décennie de conflits et d‘instabilité politique, la Côte d‘Ivoire, quatrième économie d‘Afrique subsaharienne en 1995, ne se positionne aujourd‘hui plus qu’à la neuvième place. Cependant, le principal producteur mondial de cacao, qui a bénéficié d‘une annulation partielle de dette en 2012, est entré à nouveau dans un cycle de forte croissance économique (rythme moyen de croissance supérieur à 8% depuis 2012). Cette situation ouvre de nouvelles opportunités à la Côte d‘Ivoire, mais soulève également des enjeux forts qui sont présentés dans ce numéro.
