Les enjeux du dividende démographique pour les pays d’Afrique

Abstract

La mise en oeuvre de politiques publiques en matière de populations en Afrique ne pourra avoir les effets escomptés que si un certain nombre de questions sont abordées : les pratiques traditionnelles néfastes, les stéréotypes relatifs aux rôles sociaux de genre et aux normes familiales, communautaires et sociétales ; le statut juridique et socioéconomique des femmes et leur condition en matière de droits et de santé reproductive. Ce sont les conditions préalables indispensables (et un accompagnement continu) de la réalisation optimale du dividende démographique. Le présent document propose un certain nombre de recommandations relatives aux investissements nécessaires et suffisants, à la fois massifs et ciblés sur le capital humain, en particulier dans une perspective de genre.
