Abstract

Un tercio de los 200 millones de embarazos que se pro-ducen cada año son no deseados. Estos están estrecha-mente vinculados con las dificultades para acceder a la educación sexual y a métodos anticonceptivos eficaces. Los embarazos no deseados son un problema de salud pública, ya que una cuarta parte de ellos termina en abor-tos de riesgo que, a menudo, ocasionan complicaciones médicas.
