(Over)capaciteitsontwikkeling in de binnenvaarttankermarkt en mogelijke toekomstscenario's

Abstract

Het doel van deze studie is om inzicht te verkrijgen in de ontwikkelingen in de binnenvaarttanksector. In een onderzoek naar drogeladingvloot (van Hassel, 2013), werd er vastgesteld dat er sprake is van een zeer grote capaciteitsopbouw van laadvermogen. Deze opbouw vond vooral plaats in het segment van de grote schepen (> 86 meter). Dit heeft ertoe geleid dat er sprake is van overcapaciteit in drogeladingsector en dan met name bij de grote schepen. De vraag is nu: is er in de tanksector een gelijke trend te ontdekken en als die er is, wat is de grondslag er van geweest?
