Press releases online: the effectiveness of Calliope as an online writing center for business communication
AbstractThe Calliope online writing center developed at the University of Antwerp, Belgium, provides a modular platform aimed at enhancing learners’ professional writing skills. Drawning from the module on press releases it is first shown how Calliope caters for different learning styles and what the main features are of its process approach. Next, we will report on a preliminary investigation into the effectiveness of the writing center, using the results of learners’ self-efficacy testing as well as peer feedback data.
