Abstract

The Western Centre for Economic Research has constructed a new Alberta based, forward looking quarterly survey of business confidence. Businesses across Alberta and across industry sectors are surveyed to determine their outlook for future demand, employment needs, pricing and inventory levels. An index of business sentiments is developed based on survey results. To a considerable degree, the survey follows the EU format, an established and successful model.
