Abstract

This publication identifies the 25 leading agricultural commodities produced in each State and the United States, ranked by the value of cash receipts. The major producing States, ranked by cash receipts, for each of the 25 leading commodities in the United States and for several major commodity groups are also identified. The information is derived from U.S. Department of Agriculture's cash receipts statistics for the marketing of agricultural commodities within States. The ranking of commodities produced in a State provides indications of the diversity of a State's agriculture. The rankings of States for a commodity provide information about the location of production.
