Causalidade de preço do mercado de carne de boi gordo para seis Estados brasileiros, 1994 a 2003

Abstract

O setor agropecuário têm sido um dos mais dinâmicos e contribuído de forma significativa na formação do PIB brasileiro. Dentre as conexões existentes nesse setor, o mercado de boi gordo brasileiro é um dos mais importantes, sendo o segundo maior produtor de carne bovina no mundo, ficando atrás apenas dos EUA. Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar dentre os principais mercados produtores de carne bovina no Brasil qual deles se comporta como mercado primário, ou seja, quem determina o preço e, neste sentido, averiguar a direção da causalidade entre eles (mercados) e se os mesmos são co-integrados. Para tanto, serão analisados os mercados da Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná e São Paulo, fazendo uso dos modelos para avaliar o grau de integração, testes de cointegração e causalidade.
