Análise Dos Retornos Sociais Oriundos De Adoção Tecnológica Na Cultura Do Açaí No Estado Do Pará

Abstract

A presente pesquisa tem por objetivo dimensionar e analisar os retornos sociais e econômicos resultantes do cultivo racional e tecnificado do açaí no Estado do Pará. O açaí é o alimento base de grande parcela da população paraense, em especial dos povos ribeirinhos, que o exploram em sua quase totalidade na forma extrativa. A presente pesquisa analisou as relações de demanda e oferta do açaí com o fim de obter as elasticidades-preço da oferta e da demanda para assim, estimar os retornos sociais e econômicos da adoção tecnológica sobre a economia do açaí no Pará. Os resultados mostraram que a partir de 2002, os benefícios com a adoção tecnológica para a sociedade paraense têm crescido a uma taxa média de 36,64%, sendo que, em 2005, o valor estimado do benefício total foi da ordem de 238 milhões de reais.
