Abertura Econômica E Crescimento: Abordagem De Thirlwall Para Estudos Do Desempenho Da Balança Comercial Brasileira

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como objetivo verificar o impacto da abertura econômica sobre o crescimento da economia brasileira a partir de uma análise da Balança Comercial, de 1990 até 2004. A abordagem está baseada na Lei de Thirlwall que versa sobre a restrição externa como a real inibidora do crescimento de alguns países. Especificamente estima-se um modelo econométrico que permite mensurar a taxa de crescimento do País em relação ao resto do mundo a partir das elasticidades-renda das exportações e das importações. Observam-se as exportações do setor agrícola em relação ao setor não-agrícola apresentou desempenho favorável ao crescimento econômico. Além disso, observou-se também que a partir da mudança do regime cambial brasileiro, a contribuição das exportações para o crescimento econômico, é significativa
