Estimativa Da Demanda De Importacao Brasileira De Leite Em Po, 1980-2002

Neste trabalho estimou-se a função de demanda de importação de leite em pó no período de 1980 a 2002, utilizando-se o Modelo de Correção de Erros. Especificamente, analisou-se o efeito da variação na quantidade importada do produto como resposta às variações na quantidade produzida internamente, no preço médio de importação, na renda interna, na taxa de câmbio, na taxa de crescimento da população e os impactos provocados pela abertura comercial de 1994. As variáveis que se apresentaram significativas foram apenas o PIB per capta, o preço médio de importação e a produção interna. As demais variáveis como taxa de câmbio, taxa de crescimento da população e a Dummy referente à abertura comercial não foram significativas. Concluiu-se que mudanças tanto no câmbio quanto no crescimento populacional não interferem na quantidade importada de leite em pó. --------------------------------------------------------- In this study we estimated the demand function for importing powdered milk from 1980 to 2002, using the Error Correction Model. Specifically, we analyzed the effect of varying the amount imported product in response to variations in the quantity produced domestically, the average price of imports in domestic income, exchange rate, rate of population growth and the impacts caused by trade liberalization of 1994. The variables that were significant only had GDP per capita, the price Average import and domestic production. Other variables such as exchange rate, growth rate Dummy relating to population and trade liberalization were not significant. It is concluded that changes in both the Exchange as in population growth do not interfere with imported quantity of powdered milk.
