Capital Social E Desenvolvimento Das Comunidades Piscatórias De Cabo Verde: Estudo De Caso Da Ilha De Santiago

Abstract

Este trabalho analisou o capital social nas comunidades piscatórias da Ilha de Santiago. Os resultados indicam que o estoque de Capital Social é diferente nos Concelhos da Ilha de Santiago sendo que o Concelho do Tarrafal foi o que apresentou maior indice de Capital Social e o Concelho de Ribeira Grande foi o que apresentou menor indice. O Acesso á informação, confiança e ajuda de vizinhos são os pontos negativos que mereceram destaque em praticamente todos os Concelhos da Ilha. Sendo o Capital Social um factor importante no processo de desenvolvimento, deve-se adoptar politicas que possam aumentar o estoque de capital social comunitário propiciando o surgimento de iniciativas colectivas baseadas na cooperação e confiança no sentido de possibilitar o desenvolvimento do país. --------------------------------------------------------------This work analyzed the social capital in the fisheries communities of Santiago's Island. The results indicate that the stock of Social Capital is different in region of Santiago's Island and region of Tarrafal presented larger index of Social Capital and region of Ribeira Grande presented smaller index. The information Access, trust and neighbors' help are the negative points that deserved attention in practically all of regions of the Island. Being the Social Capital an important factor in the development process, it is necessary to adopt policies that can increase the stock of community social capital propitiating the appearance of associate initiatives based in the cooperation and trust in the sense of making possible the development of the country.
