A Fruticultura Irrigada Em Áreas De Assentamento No Município De Baraúna – Rn: Análise Do Processo De Produção E Comercialização

Abstract

A fruticultura irrigada foi introduzida no Rio Grande do Norte, no final dos anos 70, pela empresa Maisa Agroindustrial S/A – MAISA, através do cultivo de melão. A partir da década de 80 outras empresas, como por exemplo, a FRUNORTE passaram a produzir melão e outras frutas na região. Porém, a partir de meados da década de 90, o melão passou a ser produzido também por médios e pequenos produtores da região, inclusive por produtores de áreas de assentamentos de Reforma Agrária, os quais se tornaram fornecedores do produto para a agroindústria – que se encarregava da venda do melão junto aos mercados externo e interno (COSTA, 2002). Este estudo teve como objetivo geral: analisar o processo de produção e comercialização da fruticultura irrigada desenvolvida em áreas de assentamentos do município de Baraúna – RN. E como objetivos específicos: verificar a forma de organização da produção e comercialização de frutas em áreas de assentamento; traçar o perfil sócio-econômico dos produtores; verificar a área plantada, a produção, produtividade e a quantidade comercializada (nos mercados externo e interno) de cada uma das frutas por assentamento; identificar os canais de comercialização adotados; verificar a renda dos produtores oriunda da fruticultura irrigada. De acordo com informações obtidas junto ao Sindicato dos Trabalhadores Rurais de Baraúna, seis assentamentos naquele município trabalharam com a fruticultura irrigada produzindo melão, melancia, no período 2001-2004, enquanto no período 2005-2006 apenas cinco assentamentos trabalharam com a produção de frutas, produzindo melão, melancia e mamão. Destaca-se que em algumas áreas o melão foi substituído pela melancia ou mamão.-------------------------------------------------The irrigated fruit was introduced in Rio Grande do Norte, in the end of the seventies, for the company Maisa Agroindustrial S/A - MAISA, through the melon cultivation. Starting from the decade of 80 other companies, as for instance, FRUNORTE started to produce melon and other fruits in the area. However, starting from middles of the decade of 90, the melon became also produced by medium and small producing of the area, besides for producing of areas of establishments of Agrarian Reform, which became supplying of the product for the agroindustries - that took charge close to of the sale of the melon the markets I express and internal (COAST, 2002). This study had as general objective: to analyze the production process and commercialization of the irrigated horticulture developed in areas of establishments of the municipal district of Baraúna - RN. And as specific objectives: to verify the form of organization of the production and commercialization of fruits in establishment areas; to trace the socioeconomic profile of the producers; to verify the planted area, the production, productivity and the marketed amount (in the markets I express and internal) of each one of the fruits for establishment; to identify the commercialization channels adopted; to verify the income of the producers originating from of the irrigated horticulture. In agreement with information obtained the Union of the Rural Workers of Baraúna close to, six establishments in that municipal district worked with the irrigated horticulture producing melon, watermelon, in the period 2001-2004, while in the period 2005-2006 only five establishments worked with the production of fruits, producing melon, watermelon and papaya. He/she/you stands out that in some areas the melon was substituted by the watermelon or papaya.
