Abstract

As tecnologias empregadas no setor agropecuário visam lhe proporcionar maior competitividade e produtividade. The employed technologies in the agricultural section seek to provide it a larger competitiveness and productivity. Social, economical, cultural and subjective characteristics of producers condition the adoption of certain technology. Thus, the technological level of producers depends on the social economical factors related to the technological adoption. The objective of this article is to analyze the conditioners of technology adoption into the beekeeping from Ceará. The beekeeping was chosen due to the relevance of this activity into the livestock of the state of Ceará. For the accomplishment of this research it was made a case study in the city of Santana do Cariri, for considering it representative and due to the readiness of data. The descriptive statistics was used to determine the social economic profile of beekeepers and it was esteemed an equation to verify the relation of the social economical variables to their technological index. The majority of beekeepers are less than 40 years old, they have just studied incomplete elementary school, and have income smaller than three minimum wages and they carry out other activities in the livestock section and in other sections. The results of the esteemed equation show that the variables apiary like, technical attendance, labor readiness and social participation have a positive influence on the beekeepers' technological level. The variables, experience in the beekeeping and use of family labor present negative relation to the technological index and the variables number of beehives and education were shown not significant. The variables that have more influence on the technological level of beekeepers are the apiary type, the social participation and the technical attendance, obtaining the conclusion that for the beekeepers to have increase of the technological index should practice the migratory beekeeping, to participate in some social organization and to be technically attended.
