Abstract

----- A Research-training group the objectif of which is the study and the analysis of "Caribbean Agrarian Systems and Alternatives of Development" (SACAD) works in the UAG. The general objective of this group is to reach a better knowledge on the economic, social and "technical" characteristics of Caribbean agricultures in order to enrich the critical analysis of the regional policies of agricultural and rural development, and to supply the necessary thought on the trends of present evolution of the Caribbean societies and their possible development alternatives. Therefore the matter is, on one hand to contribute to the development and to the linking of the already produced results and of the current works with proposing a structure and problematics propitions to this synthesis, and, on the other hand to benefit from and to summon up the existing rich and diversified scientific potential for the training of staff able to prepare and lead development actions relying on local agricultural facts and located in their Caribbean context. It follows the pedagogic proceeding and the content of the Caribbean Agricultural Development (DAC) Master.
