COMPARACI6N DE LAS LEGUMINOSAS MANI FORRAJERO {Arachispintoi), KUDZU TROPICAL (Pueraria phaseoloides), CENTRO (Centrosema pubescens) Y CALOPOGONIO (Calopogonium mucunoides), COMO COBERTURA Y MEJORAMIENTO DE LA FERTILIDAD DEL SUELO

Abstract

Con el objetivo de evaluar la capacidad de cobertura y el mejoramiento de la fertilidad del suelo utilizando leguminosas forrajeras, se realizo el presente trabajo en un area del Nordeste del pais. Se evaluaron las leguminosas Arachis pintoi, Pueraria phaseoloides, Centrosema pubescens y Calopogonium mucunoides. Se utilizo un diseno de bloques al azar con cuatro tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones. Los resultados obtenidos en este trabajo sugieren a las especies en estudio como promisorias para usarse como cultivo de cobertura, siendo Calopogonium muconoides la especie que logro el mayor porcentaje de cobertura en el menor tiempo (90 dias), con un 77%, sin embargo fue la especie de menor duration, ya que a partir de los 180 dias despues de la siembra fue perdiendo la cobertura. Mientras Arachis pintoi fite la especie que presento mayor persistencia y crecimiento sostenido a traves del tiempo. En cuanto al aporte de nutrientes podria decirse que las especies que se evaluaron contribuyeron a mejorar la fertilidad del suelo.
