Comportamiento De La Naranja Washington Navel En Cuatro Patrones Y Dos Localidades En Puerto Rico Durante Los Primeros Cuatro Anos De Produccion

Abstract

Se evaluo el comportamiento de la naranja Washington Navel injertada en los patrones Swingle citrumelo, Naronja, y las mandarinas Cleopatra y Sun Chu Sha en Corozal e Isabela durante los primeros cuatro afios de produccidn. El promedio de numero de frutas por arbol fue significativamente diferente entre localidades y entre patrones para los dos primeros anos (1996-97 y 1997-98). En 1998-99 no fue posible recopilar datos por los dafios causados por el Huracan Georges. Para el ano 1999-00 (cuarto afio de produccidn ) no hubo diferencias significativas entre localidades y patrones). Para los primeros dos anos en Corozal se produjjeron significativamente mas frutas que en Isabela y el patrdn Swingle presenta mas frutas que los demas patropes que no difieren entre si. En el cuarto ano de produccidn no hubo diferencia significativa para volumen de copa entre localidades y si en los promedios entre patrones, siendo Swingle el de menor tamafio.
