Abstract

The effects of dairy program scenarios, including recent legislation and two alternative support proposals, were simulated on typical New York and Wisconsin farms from 1980 to 1989. The results indicated price support program withdrawal would seriously affect the financial well-being and continued viability of similar farms, particularly in the Northeast.
