Sustitución de monedas y dominancia fiscal en equilibrio general: Un aporte teórico para el caso argentino

Abstract

Cuando los intereses de la autoridad fiscal están por sobre los de la autoridad monetaria se pone en peligro la estabilidad del valor de la moneda doméstica. Como consecuencia, se observa que los agentes recurren a una moneda extranjera para respaldar la pérdida de poder adquisitivo de sus ingresos. El objetivo de este trabajo es formular un Modelo de Equilibrio General Dinámico y Estocástico de corte NeoKeynesiano que presente el fenómeno de sustitución monetaria como una respuesta endógena a la existencia de un régimen de dominancia fiscal. El modelo, si bien pensado para explicar la experiencia de Argentina, puede ser empleado también en otras economías que presenten este tipo de problemática.
