Duración del desempleo en ArgentinaUn análisis dinámico del período 2003-2018

Abstract

El siguiente trabajo tiene el objetivo de caracterizar la extensión de la duración promedio de los episodios de desempleo experimentada en Argentina desde el 2003 al 2018. Se examinará el rol que la propia duración tiene en la probabilidad de transitar hacia un empleo, controlando por variables socioeconómicas de los individuos, macroeconómicas y ciertas características del empleo anterior. Para ello, se utilizará un modelo de duración log-log complementario, utilizando paneles rotativos construidos a partir de la Encuesta Permanente de Hogares. Los resultados obtenidos refuerzan el argumento expuesto en trabajos anteriores respecto a la dependencia a la duración negativa inherente a los episodios de desempleo, y la necesidad de abordajes específicos para reinsertar laboralmente a los trabajadores con desempleos de larga duración, aún en períodos de crecimiento económico y reducción de la tasa global de desempleo.
