Trata-se de uma análise da participação de Minas Gerais no Convênio de Taubaté, com base em dados coletados em fontes primárias localizadas nos arquivos privados dos atores que politicamente foram mais relevantes no processo de planejamento e execução da primeira política valorizadora. Visa destacar os interesses mineiros sobre a operação e as dificuldades vivenciadas pelos cafeicultores para fazerem valer seus interesses junto ao Estado Nacional, momentaneamente ocupado por um Presidente mineiro.
