-- Infrastructure in a mobile society is characterised by the means for increased mobility and maximum choice. There is, however, not equal access for all people to all of the various aspects of infrastructure provision; this is dependent on an array of factors, which may affect individuals or be class-, neighbourhood-, age-, or sex-specific. The technical means provide opportunities for higher levels of mobility and, on average, increase the radius of action for many people; however, not every member of a mobile society is mobile. Here the author reviews the various contributions to this collection of papers, identifies the questions which remain open, and points to areas where further action is required in the research, planning and political arenas.
