Abstract

Entrepreneurs are relegated to a black box in economics because most economic models focus on equilibrium conditions, whereas entrepreneurs thrive in and often create disequilibrium. Leaving the entrepreneur out of the analysis is particularly inappropriate regarding environmental issues because nature is constantly changing, as are the demands society places on nature. The purpose of this chapter is to bring environmental entrepreneurs — enviropreneurs — to the analysis of private environmental protection by integrating them into free market environmentalism…
