Abstract

A new venture offers the market a new product, a new good or service, or a new method of production or distribution. Every new venture also provides an opportunity to make an economy more humane. New ventures are the seeds of change and growth, the wellspring of life of all economies whether they are large or small, advanced or primitive. They are the mechanism by which small economies become larger and primitive economies advance. The humane role of the entrepreneurial venture in change and growth is about more than just conventional business practice and, according to Schumpeter, is equally about sociology and history.
