Abstract

Ethics and governance is an area which few of you know much. It is not taught in school and much of it is learned on the job. However, this area is one which you should take seriously. Violation of the codes and governance requirements has grave consequences for the professional’s reputation and ability to practice. Even if a violation does not result in some penalty, trust in the professional may be eroded and her professional standing diminished. The scope of this module is very wide. To keep the material manageable we have focused on the fundamentals. Candidates interested in particular areas or topics can use the references to expand their knowledge and understanding.
