Abstract

The papers in this volume represent a selection from the papers I wrote during several decades, while working first at the International Monetary Fund and then teaching at the University of Toronto — many with co-authors. Broadly speaking, all of these papers use models as a way of informing the choice of macroeconomic policies. While some of the papers are technical, they were all written to address real-world economic policy problems. Moreover, these economic problems and consideration of appropriate policy responses continue to be relevant today, as is the economic analysis used to address them…
