Fair Play And Sport In Elementary School

At a time when we question the quality, and especially the relevance of the curriculum and when people polemize about the teaching profession, I am one who advocates the opinion that elementary school should also be the so-called school for life. With this I think that in school children should have to experience as many different situations as possible which would prepare them for their adult life. At a time when computers are taking on a number of people's tasks, the school system should focus on developing and promoting the intelligence that the machines are not capable of. By that I mean humanity and emotional intelligence. From this point of view, the integration of fair play into sports content seems more as an urge than only the content that I would like to have in the curriculum. At a lower level, when we are still learning the rules of a game, it is important that children learn to respect the equality of rules for everyone and try to follow them. They should encourage each other that rules are the same for everyone. At a higher level, meaning in the last triad, when students are well aware of what is right and wrong, it is important that they learn to give each other the opportunity to prove themselves. It is important that they know how to listen, give each other a chance to be honest and also encourage one another. It is only right that they learn about positive communications and solving problems. Fair play can give the kids all of that, if we include it in sports content in elementary school.
