Abstract

Study environment is very important for both teachers and students. It affects well being and work motivation. Every school should dedicate a lot of attention to this because creating the environment that encourages all involved is not an easy task. Namely people have different wishes and expectations. Our school is trying to offer students that have very different needs, the environment that would motivate them and give them opportunites to prove themselves in different aspects. We have found out there is still lots of room for improvement in the aspect of working with gifted students. Gifted students are often bored during lessons and therefore need additional occupation. Every year, we prepare quite a few interesting activities for them , which they gladly attend. The problem we face is mainly their schedule, because students have many extra-curricular activities like music schools, dancing lessons and various sport activities. Here are some of the activities that have already been carried out: night in school, visiting the house of illusions, going to exhibition about Leonardo da Vinci, Orinoka Indians, human body, 1001 inventions, Slovenian Museum of Natural History, Slovene Ethnographic Museum, horse riding, mini golf, seeing the photograps in Tivoli park and Ljubljana tour, canoe rides and cross-country skiing. I have asked 100 students in our school what encouraging study environment is for them. To summarize the answers they believe that is the environment where they gain knowledge in different ways and different environments, where they are not afraid and things are interesting.
