Abstract

This chapter follows Chap. 8 , taking the long-term structural changes of ancient Chinese society as a case study to provide historical facts for the theoretical framework of the state and social system. The chapter first expounds the main dynamics and the features of social development in ancient China according to the general structure of the state and social system from the three aspects of the human-culture system, economic system and science system; expounds the role of synergistic factors such as population movement, cultural exchange, commercial trade, and technological spread in promoting social development by combining the historical facts of ancient China; and comprehensively discusses the important influence of the natural environment on the historical development of human society by synthesising the relevant research results in terms of climate, geography, population and history from the perspective of climate change.
