Abstract

The chapter amalgamates the key findings of the previous chapters, which revolve around the alternative resource governance perspective developed in this book. In this regard, it summarises the necessary and sufficient conditions for moving towards sustainable transformative pathways. Simultaneously, it ushers that, by revitalising the relationship between nature and humans, it is possible to bend the curve of biodiversity degradation, equalise the curve for water resources and flatten the curve of climate crisis. It also assesses the relevance of the findings of the book to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) considering the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the end, it suggests that the alternative approach needs to be promoted at different tiers of policy levels—ranging from international to local—in order to steer the course of socio-economic development on to a pathway that combines the welfare of human beings and nature at the same time.
