Abstract

As a grand strategy in China, the BRI is endowed with a complex nature. It is not only an economic initiative but also a geopolitical strategygeopolitical strategy involving a series of security issues. Even though the BRI is depicted through China’s idealist discourse with ideal goals, the initiative itself and the perception of it are always the result of realist considerations, particularly with regard to security issues.
